As the cornerstone of UCLA Health's Santa Monica campus, our 281-bed, full-service medical center offers unparalleled care — from prenatal and neonatal services to geriatric medicine — and everything in between. Our facility blends the expertise of an academic medical center with the accessibility of a community hospital, giving patients the best of both worlds.

The team at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center prides itself on offering outstanding programs and services and catering to diverse health care needs. Our Nethercutt Emergency Center stands as Santa Monica's sole emergency department approved for pediatric care, treating over 50,000 patients each year. The BirthPlace, recognized as one of Southern California's most comprehensive maternity centers, delivers approximately 1,500 babies each year and is home to a 16-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for specialized infant care.

Our commitment to innovation and excellence goes far beyond patient care. Designed by renowned architect Robert A.M. Stern, our medical center has a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environment. With over 25% of our campus dedicated to green spaces, including the serene Harman Garden Plaza, we offer patients, visitors and staff a tranquil oasis in the heart of Santa Monica.

Since its opening in 1926, this medical center has evolved to become a beacon of health care excellence for the Santa Monica community and beyond.
