Stan Hough served as the Field Manager for the Waterbury Spirit. The team was an independent professional baseball team which played its home games at Municipal Stadium in Waterbury Connecticut from 1997 through 2000. Stan was the manager for the team's first two seasons, both of which were played in the mid-1990's version of the Northeast League. The league then merged with the Northern League for a handful of seasons before returning as the Northeast League in 2003 and 2004. From 2005 through 2019, several of the teams which played in the Northeast League through 2004 then joined the Can-Am League. 2020 was the pandemic year, and in 2021 a handful of the longstanding Northeast League teams joined and are still playing in the Frontier League.
