On Wednesday Sept 9, 2026 I accompanied a friend who was doing video footage filming and using the Matterport equipment to create a virtual tour at TUPPS Brewery in McKinney Texas. I thought it was just him filming the brewery, but instead he was asked to do tours & filming for multiple locations on the 4-acre property.
It was interesting how he made adjustments for buildings on the property which can be booked for private parties or events, such as those which are either indoors-only, outdoors-only, and what he called a "blended". The latter was one of the areas which is a "beer hall" - and it is covered completely except for being open at the far ends.
We discussed using his final Matterport or similar virtual tour output to go to the next level and create a Waypoint ID or similar files. These then can be used to help people discover more content of interest when wearing the new augmented reality glasses or similar vision-based wearable technology. We walked the grounds with the owner and his family in order to pick up nuances which often get overlooked by customers - but which he believes can enhance the customer's experience when at the property. It was interesting that they added a mini-sized soccer pitch on the East side of the property which evidently has teams and leagues.
One thing I liked - and will add a photo if my friend's photo session captures it - is the area around the outdoor concert stage. There is some potential use for being transformed to host an outdoor awards ceremony all the way to changing up how a business networking meeting could be presented. The unique configuration actually enhances a speaker's connection to the audience; but it has to be filmed/photographed properly in order to be able to convey it to someone who never has been to the location.
In all, I surprisingly had a good time while helping him with the portion where I helped my friend; and the owner & his family were really nice and friendly.
