Today, we visited the Balijan Buddha Bihar situated in Shyam Gaon, Titabor. It is the oldest Buddhist monastery in Assam. It was established 200 years ago, in early 1827. It has some 300-year-old artefacts gifted by a Burmese Army General, Mingimahot Bandulai. These artefacts include a statue of Lord Buddha, a gold-plated scripture, and a few other artefacts. It was a nice and peaceful experience visiting this historical place.
