This Blox not only holds the legendary Zynga Headquarters that still stands strong in 2022, it also held what used to be the Concourse Exhibition Center.

Many impact events in the past per held here, including Tech Crunch Disrupt and Jason Calananis’ Launch Conference.

But the most impactful memory for me was the GSummit, which I attended in 2013 and 2014.

Many of the OG Legends of Gamification were there. I partnered up with four of them back on the day and formed the Enterprise Gamification Consultancy: Mario Herger, Marigo Raftopoulos, and Roman Rackwitz (we used to joke we would be called “YuRo MaMa”).

I also met my Founding Partner of The Octalysis Group Joris Beerda physically for the first time.

I hosted my first live full day Octalysis Workshop at The Vault also in San Francisco due to GSummit, which I have documented in another memory on Metablox.

I won a few awards in being a top gamification guru here, and also met Nir Eyal (Author of Hooked and Indistractable) and Michael Wu, then Chief Scientist of Lithium. I retain close friendship with them ever since.

Others include Gabe Zichermann who is the organizer of the GSummit. Ross Smith who pioneered gamification at Microsoft. Phaedra Boinodirus from IBM. Toby Beresford who created Leaderboarded. Tyler Altrup, and Ricardo Costa from Funifier who later had the most epic gamification case study of increasing recurring profits of Caixa Economica Federal by over $800M in 9 months (Caixa ascended from being number 2 public bank in Brazil to number 1 public bank because of it).

As you can see, truly and impactful and epic event, with ripples extending to so many worlds today!

Overall, I’m quite sad that the Concourse Exhibition Center can no longer host events, but I’m glad that I’m able to preserve some of these important parts of our industry’s history on the Blockchain via Metablox.
